The Group reflects Lashly & Baer’s commitment to assisting clients in navigating the complex challenges of cybersecurity and data breaches.
The Group will assist clients with all aspects of cybersecurity, including:
- Planning for data breaches, including analyzing cybersecurity insurance, preparing data breach response plans, and legal compliance.
- Responding to data breaches, including interactions with law enforcement and responses to regulatory inquiries.
- Litigating data breaches, including insurance coverage disputes, and class actions.

Data breaches are among the costliest threats businesses currently face:
- Cyber attacks increased 71 percent in 2024.
- The average cost of a data breach was $4.88 million in 2024.
- Businesses with fewer than 500 employees reported that the average cost of a data breach increased from $2.92 million to $3.31 million in 2023 – and the costs keep rising.
- About 98 percent of businesses have at least one third-party vendor that has suffered a data breach.
