Kenneth C. Brostron

Biography
Kenneth C. Brostron has 50 years of trial experience. He defends health care providers and attorneys in professional negligence claims. He counsels businesses and government agencies in all aspects of their operations. He is also well-known for his work in education law, as well as state and United States constitutional matters.
Mr. Brostron has been chief negotiator in labor discussions and lead counsel in a wide variety of complex litigation. His clients rely on his negotiation skills including his mediation training, to avoid litigation and on his trial experience to defend against a wide variety of claims including employment, professional negligence, product liability, and claims against client conduct involving fiduciary obligations as officers and directors.
He has tried countless jury trials to verdict as well as representing his clients in judge tried cases, appeals and before administrative panels. He was counsel to the Board of Education for the City of St. Louis for over 25 years. During that time he was lead counsel in the St. Louis Desegregation Case which generated billions of dollars for services to provide area children with educational opportunities for decades. In addition, Ken advocated and received court orders that generated millions of dollars for capital improvements of City schools as well as funding for many new school buildings.
Ken is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has been selected by his peers for inclusion to The Best Lawyers in America® lists in the fields of Medical Malpractice Law-Defendants and Personal Injury Litigation-Defendants each year since 2001. He was selected by his peers to be the 2020 Lawyer of the Year for St. Louis in the area of Personal Injury Litigation-Defendants by The Best Lawyers in America.® In 2016, Ken’s peers also named him Lawyer of the Year for St. Louis in the area of Medical Malpractice Law-Defendants by The Best Lawyers in America.® Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers publication has named him a Super Lawyer for his work in Personal Injury Medical Malpractice-Defendants each year since 2005. He has also been rated as one of the Top 100 Attorneys in Missouri and one of the Top 50 Attorneys in St. Louis by St. Louis Super Lawyers since 2006. Ken has also received the Top Verdicts & Settlements Award from Missouri Lawyers Weekly for having one of the top defense verdicts in the state for three years in a row since 2015. He earned his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law.
