Transportation Litigation Associate Attorney
Lashly & Baer, P.C. seeks a civil litigation attorney, with 2 – 4 years’ experience, to join its Litigation Practice Group with an emphasis in transportation defense. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of insurance defense, transportation law, premises liability, products liability. Ideal candidate would be licensed in Missouri and Illinois.
Primary duties include working with a skilled team to develop all aspects of cases for trial and to achieve great results for our clients. Attorney will work closely with clients to develop litigation strategies, conduct fact and expert discovery, and handle court-related matters.
The successful candidate must have excellent academic qualifications, strong communication and writing skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to function both independently and within a team.

Employee Benefits/State and Local Tax Attorney
Lashly & Baer, P.C. seeks an attorney with employee benefits and state tax law experience to join its Government and Business Practice Groups. This can be a part-time position, 100% remote, depending on the candidate’s needs, or a traditional full-time position headed toward partnership track.
The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of ERISA compliance and pension, qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, fiduciary governance, and/or nonqualified deferred compensation plans, and state and local tax law issues impacting private and government clients. Ideal candidates would be licensed in Missouri and Illinois.
Primary duties include reviewing and drafting plan documents, analysis of employee benefits issues, and advising clients on sales, use, franchise, property and related state and local tax issues. State administrative tax experience is a plus.
The successful candidate must have excellent academic qualifications, strong communication and writing skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to function both independently and within a team. Preferred candidates will have five or more years of related experience.
