We have represented health care providers for more than 40 years.  Initially, our clients were two major St. Louis hospitals.  We now act as counsel to the four major health care systems in St. Louis, several independent hospitals, St. Louis's largest air and ground ambulance services, nursing homes, a national assisted living company, surgery centers, urgent care facilities, individual, group and multi-specialty physician practices, the state nursing organization, allied health practitioners, a national health care consulting company, rural health clinics, and other health care providers.

We serve as corporate counsel for a variety of for-profit and not-for-profit health care providers and regularly negotiate, draft and review contracts with providers, vendors, third party payors, managed care plans, and integrated delivery systems. We assist in resolving issues with state and federal regulatory agencies, including Medicare, Medicaid, and professional and facility licensing agencies.  We are one of only two firms in Missouri involved in the Certificate of Need (CON) process since its inception.

Our attorneys are recognized throughout the health care industry as leaders in their field and many have served as educators in area health education programs.  Three of our attorneys (two of which hold advanced degrees in Health Care) are registered nurses, two have law degrees specific to health care.  As a result, we have a practical knowledge of the field which enhances our ability to relate to and provide for our clients' needs.  Two of our health care attorneys has been selected on an annual basis by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers of America and several of our health care attorneys have been recognized as Missouri Kansas Super Lawyers.  One of our attorneys was one of the first attorneys in the St. Louis area to be certified as a health care mediator by the American Health Lawyers Association.

Our Health Care attorneys are active members of the Forum Committee on Health Law of the American Bar Association; American Nurses Association; American Association for Nurse Attorneys; American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics; American Health Lawyers Association; Missouri Society of Health Care Attorneys; Missouri Nurses Association; St. Louis Association of Healthcare Risk Managers; St. Louis Association of Hospital Risk Managers; and St. Louis Health Lawyers Association; as well as court and administrative agency advisory committees. Members of the Firm have held leadership positions in many of these professional associations.
