Asmus,
Watters Named to Lashly & Baer Board of Directors

April 16, 2001 - The law firm of Lashly &
Baer, P.C. is pleased to announce that David
G. Asmus and Richard
D. Watters have been elected to the Firm's Board
of Directors. They join Board members John
Fox Arnold, Kenneth
C. Brostron, Michael
D. Regan, Stuart
J. Vogelsmeier, and Terrance
J. Good.
Mr.
Asmus, Co-chair of the firm's Business Transactions
Practice Group, has been a Member of Lashly & Baer
since 1998. He engages in banking and financial
services, commercial transactions, and real estate law.
During 20 years of law practice, Mr. Asmus has served as
in-house corporate counsel for banking institutions
including Citicorp/Citibank and as outside counsel to a
number of such institutions. Mr. Asmus' current clients
include national, regional and local banks, financial
services companies, mortgage banks and brokerage
companies.
Mr.
Asmus earned his B.A. in from Saint Ambrose University
in 1976 and his J.D. from Saint Louis University School
of Law in 1979. He is a member of the American Bar
Association, The Missouri Bar, and the Bar Association
of Metropolitan St. Louis. He was formerly a member of
the American Corporate Counsel Association and was a
co-founder of the St. Louis Chapter, serving as its
President in 1988-89 and as a member of the Board of
Directors from 1989-1992. Mr. Asmus has also served on
the Board of Directors of the Lewis and Clark Institute
in St. Louis and the Green Park School Association.
Mr.
Watters has been with Lashly & Baer since 1975 and a
Member of the Firm since 1981. He currently serves as
Chair of the Health Law Department. Mr. Watters advises
health care clients on a variety of corporate and
administrative issues such as medical staff
relationships, provider and managed care contracting,
fraud and abuse, licensing and reimbursement. He also
represents buyers and sellers in the sales of hospitals,
nursing homes and physician practices.
Mr.
Watters recently became one of the first St. Louis-area
attorneys certified as a Health Care Mediator by the
American Health Lawyers Association and is listed in the
2001-2002 issue of The Best Lawyers in America.
Mr.
Watters received a BSIE from Bradley University in 1973
and his J.D., cum laude, from Saint Louis University in
1976. He is a member of the American Bar Association,
The Missouri Bar, the Bar Association of Metropolitan
St. Louis, the St. Louis County Bar Association and the
Illinois Bar Association. He is also a member of the
American Health Lawyers Association and the Missouri
Society of Health Care Attorneys.
