Lashly
& Baer, P.C. Elects New Member; Three Join Board of
Directors
Tuesday,
February 26, 2002 - The law firm of Lashly & Baer,
P.C., recently elected Kevin
L. Fritz to firm membership and named James
C. Hetlage, Robert
E. McWilliams, and Wendy
J. Wolf to the Firm's Board of Directors.
Kevin
L. Fritz, an attorney with Lashly & Baer,
P.C., since 1998, engages in civil litigation with an
emphasis in transportation litigation involving motor
carriers, insurance defense, commercial and banking
litigation and personal injury work. He has directed
litigation in insurance coverage, product liability,
federal regulatory, premises liability, bankruptcy, and
vehicular negligence matters.
Mr.
Fritz earned his J.D. from the University of
Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 1993. He graduated
cum laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia with
a B.S.B.A. in Finance and Real Estate in 1989. Mr. Fritz
is a member of the American Bar Association, The
Missouri Bar, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St.
Louis, Bar Association of Metropolitan Kansas City, and
the Greene County Bar Association. He also serves on the
Fidelity and Surety Law, Insurance Law, Trial Tactics
and Techniques, and Trucking Law Committees of the
Defense Research Institute, Inc.
James
C. Hetlage, a member of the Firm since 1996,
serves as Co-Chair of the Firm's Litigation Practice
Group. Mr. Hetlage engages primarily in employment law
and employment discrimination litigation, representing
governmental and private sector employers before
administrative agencies, trial courts and appellate
courts. He is experienced in resolving employment
disputes through mediation and arbitration and providing
clients with counseling and guidance on drafting and
implementing employment policies and on ADA compliance
issues. Mr. Hetlage also handles litigation involving
commercial disputes, including breach of contract,
condemnation, construction and real estate matters.
Mr.
Hetlage received his J.D. from Washington University
School of Law in 1989. He is a 1986 graduate of Kenyon
College, where he earned a B.A. in English Literature.
Mr. Hetlage is a member of the Ameri-can Bar
Association, The Missouri Bar, the Bar Association of
Metropolitan St. Louis, and the Illinois Bar
Association. He is a member of the American Bar
Association's Labor and Employment and Litigation
Sections. Mr. Hetlage also serves as a member of the
Washington University School of Law Executive Alumni
Committee.
Robert
E. McWilliams has been a member of Lashly &
Baer, P.C., since 1984 and serves as Co-Chair of the
firm's Transactions Practice Group. His practice is
primarily transactional, concentrating on governmental
bodies and public agencies. He advises his clients on
matters ranging from real estate and construction law to
commercial law and procurement matters. He has been
involved in all aspects of multimillion-dollar
construction projects, and has undertaken the purchase
and sale of numerous residential, commercial, and
industrial properties.
Mr.
McWilliams is a 1974 graduate of Saint Louis University
School of Law. In 1971, he received an A.B. (magna cum
laude) in History from Saint Louis University and was a
member of Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. McWilliams is a member of
the American Bar Association, The Missouri Bar, and the
Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. He has been
an investigator and arbitrator for the Fee Dispute
Committee of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St.
Louis and has been active with the St. Louis Volunteer
Lawyers Program for many years.
Wendy
J. Wolf has been with the Firm since 1987 and a
member since 1994. A nurse, Ms. Wolf engages primarily
in litigation with an emphasis on medical malpractice
defense of health care institutions and professionals.
Ms. Wolf defends and counsels medical professionals and
institutions on matters involving risk management,
medical records issues, policy development, licensure
and disciplinary proceedings, and in venue matters.
Ms.
Wolf earned a J.D. from Saint Louis University School of
Law in 1987. She received an M.S. in Nursing from the
University of Virginia in 1978 and a B.S. in Nursing
from Vanderbilt University in 1974. Ms. Wolf is a member
of the American Bar Association, The Missouri Bar, the
Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the
Illinois Bar Association. Ms. Wolf is also a member of
the American Nurses Association, the Missouri Nurses
Association, Sigma Theta Tau, the American Association
for Nurse Attorneys, the St. Louis Association of Health
Care Risk Managers, and the St. Louis Area Health
Lawyers Association.
