Kathryn B. Forster
Kathryn B. Forster practices in the areas of governmental agency law, education and corporate law with an emphasis on public agencies. She has advised and drafted internal policies and regulations for school districts, public libraries and public transportation agencies on topics relating to contracts, procurements, governmental immunity, cooperation by governmental agencies, secured financial transactions by public entities, use of public funds, and compliance with federal, state and local codes and regulations.
She advises her educational clients on student searches, student discipline, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), religious worship, sexual harassment, student dress codes, and Internet usage by students and employees.
She has negotiated contracts and leases; prepared, reviewed and negotiated purchase and sale agreements for commercial properties; and reviewed title and survey documents, and insurance commitments and policies. She has also drafted residential condominium declaration and bylaws.
Ms. Forster has served as interim general counsel for a multi-state health care provider and a local mass-transit authority. She stepped in as in-house counsel to handle a wide variety of legal and corporate matters until the search for a new in-house counsel was complete.
Katie has been selected for inclusion in Missouri & Kansas Rising Stars each year since 2008. She earned her J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law.
